Dcisio has led numerous international consultant teams designing and implementing national economic development and enterprise support programmes in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, and Botswana. Projects included financial instrument design, business & technology incubation, tech transfer, supplier and enterprise development, internationalization, trade partnership development, and institution building programmes. Ben has served as the founding CEO of two successful incubators and has worked intimately on the design and development of 20 similar SMME support initiatives.
Dcisio clients have included the World Bank, the EU, national and provincial governments, universities, and corporate clients such as AngloGold Ashanti, Royal Bafokeng Nation, SABMiller and the CSIR.
Dcisio experts regularly present at conferences, workshops, including guest lectures at various universities.
Dcisio has hands-on knowledge of a broad range of industry sectors including high-technology, agri-business, renewable energy, industrial, financial services, business process outsourcing, and biotech.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Dcisio consultants have close personal experience in entrepreneurship and commercialization, having founded, built, run, and sold a successful electronics business in the ‘90s. Ben Zaaiman’s inventions and patents were successfully produced and are still being exported and used world-wide. Dcisio has mentored more than 400 entrepreneurs and has designed and delivered several entrepreneurship training programmes.

Aquaculture — Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) for tilapia and salmon; Lake-based cage aquaculture for trout.
Renewable energy — Solar PV farm deal origination around De Aar in the Northern Cape and in the Eastern Free State.

Dcisio is experienced in project origination, appraisal, design, establishment, management, monitoring, and evaluation in South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, and Kenya.
Dcisio is skilled in assembling wide stakeholder support for ambitious initiatives, and is experienced at working with boards, international agencies, the media, and high-level business, government, and academic stakeholders. Our consultants have helped to raise and manage more than R300 million in funding to support SMME programmes. Recent fundraising is targeting more than R1.5bn in investment.
